Taking Skills to the People: Launch of the Mobile School of Business and Practical Entrepreneurship

Introduction
At the Foundation for Global Life Changers (FGLC), our mission is simple yet powerful: to transform lives by equipping vulnerable and underserved communities with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive. In a country where access to quality training opportunities is often limited by geography, poverty, and lack of resources, we believe in breaking barriers—by taking education and empowerment directly to the people.

Launch of the Mobile School Project
In April 2025, we proudly launched the Mobile School of Business and Practical Entrepreneurship in Ghana’s Upper West Region. This groundbreaking initiative trained and empowered over 100 people with practical, hands-on skills they can use to earn a sustainable living.

Participants were not just trained in theory—they engaged in real, practical skill-building activities that prepared them to create income-generating opportunities for themselves and their families. By the end of the program, beneficiaries walked away with confidence, practical expertise, and a renewed sense of hope.

How the Mobile School Works

What makes this school unique is its mobile model. Instead of expecting learners to travel long distances or pay high fees, we bring the school directly to them. Our team of professionals, consultants, and experts camp within beneficiary communities for one to four weeks, armed with training materials and tools.

During this time, they live, interact, and share real-life entrepreneurial knowledge with participants. With virtually no barriers to admission, the school is open to all—women, youth, and anyone eager to improve their livelihood.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT TRAINING IN GUO COMMUNITY

Building on Past Success: Women Empowerment in Guo Community

Introduction
The Mobile School is not our first impact story. In November 2024, we successfully carried out a women’s empowerment training program in Guo Community, Wa West District, in partnership with Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Pognaa Sadia Gbolo.

Over three days, women from the community were trained in practical skills such as beading, coated peanuts, kulikuli, and soya kebabs—skills that can generate income and strengthen household resilience.

The program was honored by the presence of key dignitaries, including:
  • Hon. Supt. (Rtd) Peter Lanchene Toobu, Member of Parliament for Wa West
  • Hon. Vida Diorotey, District Chief Executive
  • Hon. Adams Sabungu, Former Assembly Member and Secretary to the Dorimon Traditional Council
  • Hon. Osman Adam, Assembly Member for Guo Electoral Area
The enthusiasm of the women, coupled with the support of traditional leaders and local authorities, made this initiative a resounding success. The initiative not only provided women with skills to earn a living but also strengthened their confidence to contribute actively to their community’s growth.

THE ROAD AHEAD: EXPANDING TO THE NORTHERN SECTOR

The journey has only just begun. Building on the success of our Mobile School and women’s empowerment initiatives, FGLC is determined to expand its impact.

Our next mission is to reach all districts in the Upper West Region, before extending to other regions in Ghana’s northern sector, where poverty and unemployment remain most pronounced. By taking practical skills training and entrepreneurship education directly to these communities, we aim to break cycles of poverty, open doors of opportunity, and empower thousands more women and youth to thrive.

Support Our Work
While the Mobile School’s launch in the Upper West Region has shown tremendous promise, the need remains vast. Poverty is most pronounced in the northern sector of Ghana, where countless women and youth are eager for opportunities to change their lives.

At FGLC, we are committed to scaling the Mobile School of Business and Practical Entrepreneurship to reach these communities. However, to make this vision a reality, we need funding support and partnerships. With the right resources, we can roll out programs that equip thousands more with skills in areas such as agribusiness, craftwork, food processing, renewable energy, and other trades that create lasting economic independence.

Call to Action
The journey has begun, but we cannot walk it alone. We invite individuals, organizations, and partners who share our vision to join us in empowering Ghana’s most vulnerable communities. Together, we can unlock potential, ignite ambition, and build a brighter, more equitable future.
At FGLC, we are not just training people—we are changing lives, one community at a time.
